November 2019

Great Times at the Royal!

Our 3-year-old Salamander was a star in her qualifying shows, and came second in the Lieutenant Governor’s Cup Class. Wow! This sweet home-bred has always turned heads and is an absolute joy to work with. (See her pic in the Prospects Section.)

Another Successful Breeders’ Show

Our annual OEHS Breeder’s Show held in July 2019 was another great success. Some highlights for us included increases in attendance and hosting our first pony show. We enjoyed success with Westpointe, Delorean and Cause for Gold Fever. In the Open classes, Cause for Gold Fever was first in his class (two- year-old foaled in 2017). He competed in a large group of strong competitors. Delorean placed first in the Open Broodmare class and was the Open Champion mare. Her daughter Harmonika joined her for her first debut in the ring. Westpointe was the Champion CSHA broodmare. Her daughter, Balouesie, joined her in the show ring.

Thank you to all who made our show a success family, sponsors and volunteers. We look forward to our show next year on July 25, 2020. Hope to see you there!

Exciting Spring News

The spring of 2019 arrived fast and furiously with April bringing us 3 fabulous foals. First came the ultra feminine filly Harmonika by Harvard and out of Delorean. She was a delight to work with from day one. Next came Balousie by Balou de Roue and out of Westpointe. You can’t miss her with her outrageous white markings and her flashy conformation. Finally came a colt, Strike for Gold, by Sir Wanabi and out of Gold ‘n Diamonds. This strapping colt was huge and has a great demeanour.

September 2018

2018 has been an exciting year at OEHS.  In the spring, we welcomed our most anticipated first foals from our Westporte mare and from our Loerke mare.  We couldn’t have been more thrilled with what our mares produced.  Please take a gander on our Foal Page!

Here at OEHS, we continue to keep our eyes on Delorean. Last year’s Royal qualifying shows resulted in Delorean qualifying for both Cup classes, and at the Royal, she made us proud by placing eighth out of many other entries.  Along with her Cup competitions, she also completed her Hanoverian mare performance tests and inspection.  She did extremely well and earned her 1A and premium mare candidate. She is definitely one to keep an eye on!
We were pleased to host a CSHA and Open Breeders’ Show in August. We are grateful for our many sponsors without whose help we could not continue to operate. In addition, we are grateful for our volunteers who work tirelessly to support the show year after year.  A highlight of the show included Salamander securing the CSHA Grand Champion prize.  Also Cause for Gold Fever took the Open Junior Champion.

Salamander also competed at the Keystone Show and the CSHA Breeders’ Show at RCRA with great results.  We look forward to having her compete at the Cup classes in 2019!
We can’t wait to also see our 2019 foals!  See our Inutero Page to get up to date on what is in our future.

Our annual OEHS Breeders Show was another great success.  Some highlights for us included first place for both Salamander and Cause for Gold Fever in their classes.  Salamander was the champion of the CSHA Jr. Division and Cause for Gold Fever was Reserve Champion for Open Jr. Division.  Salamander also took CSHA Reserve Grand Champion.

In spite of the fact that rain was predicted, we had a good turn out welcoming many new faces to our show.
Thank you to all those who helped make our show a success.

On Sunday, September 3, Delorean completed her VHW Mare Performance Test and earned her 1A designation and her Premium Mare candidacy with brilliant results.  We look forward to breeding her in the future.

On Sunday, September 10, Delorean proved herself again with placings in both Lieutenant and Governor General qualifier classes.  We look forward to having her compete again at the second qualifier.

We are looking forward to taking Salamander to the Royal and hope to also bring Delorean.

The results of the 2016 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair were as follows:

  • CSHA weanling Salamander (Sir Wanabi X EM Eclipse) made her Royal debut with style placing 6th out of 23 in the President’s Cup Class.
  • CSHA yearling Barely Legal (Banderas X Ashtasy) stepped up his game by placing 2nd out of 8 in his yearling class.
  • Governor General’s Cup: Etching (Escudo X Watermark) turned heads in a very large group of
3 year olds by placing 7th overall.

Thanks for everyone who came out to support and cheer the OEHS team on. See you next year!!

August 2016

2016 Breeders' Show: On August 13, 2016, we hosted another exciting Breeders' Show with Open and CSHA classes. In spite of the rain, we had a good turn out. Thank you again to all our volunteers. We have already started planning for our 2017 show. Hope to see you there!

The Royal Winter Fair. Can you believe that the dates for the Royal are just around the corner? We are excited to be taking two OEHS-bred horses to the Lieutenant Governor's Cup class and the Governor General's Cup class on November 12th. We also have two horses in the Canadian Sport Horse classes. See you there!

January 2016

How quickly 2015 flew by and here we are in 2016.  We wanted to take time to highlight some of the great moments we had in 2015.

In the spring, we welcomed our new foals.  Congratulations to Caitlin Barrett who is the new owner of our filly by Rubinus, out of Watermark.  We also welcomed a colt by Banderas, out of Ashtasy.  In addition, we had the great pleasure of having an Alla Czar filly in our barn, but tragically we lost her.

August brought our third OEHS Breeders’ Show in conjunction with CSHA.  The show was a huge success and continues to grow each year.  We are grateful for all of our participants, sponsors and volunteers and want to let you know that our next show will be August 13, 2016.

In the fall, we said goodbye to our young mare, La Czarita who was sold to a show home.  We look forward to hearing about her successes in the ring!

In November, our colt Barely Legal went to the Royal Winter Fair and placed 5th of 17 in the President’s Cup for foals.  We are so happy with his temperament and his performance.

We wish to extend best wishes to all for 2016.

March 2015

We have set a date for our third annual Breeders’ Show.  It will be held August 15, 2015 beginning at 9:30 am at 2476 Moncrief Line in Cavan, Ontario. Our Show has grown every year, and we know that this year will be no exception.  Our Show will include an Open division and a CSHA division.  Mark the date on your calendar!   Please email for more details.

In 2014, our 2011 graduates Varczity and Just Because both qualified for the Cup Classes at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.  We are the proud owners of Ashtasy, the dam of Wysteria Lane – this year’s winner of the Lieutenant Governor’s at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.   Ashtasy is in foal to Banderas, and we are excited to see her offspring.  Keep tuned for future crosses for Ashtasy.

Varczity at the RAWF

In late 2014, we welcomed another new face to our broodmare band, Dorame.  Dorame is a Dutch Warmblood by the very successful hunter, Popeye K.  You can find all the information on Dorame in the Mare Section.  Have a peek!

Our young filly, La Czaritza has been in training at Stoney Fields and has been progressing well.  We can’t wait to see her in the ring this summer.
Our yearling, Delorean has been in training at our farm. She is progressing well.

In the spring, we are expecting three promising foals, two of which will be available for your consideration.  Please go to our Foal Page to see our crosses.

September 2014

We had a hectic few months. We welcomed a new wellbred mare , Romancz ( by AllaCzar) to our broodband.

We also welcomed three fabulous fillies ( Watermark X Embassylll , Eclipse X Domiro , Romancz X Popeye K ). We said goodbye to all our 2013 foals , who have great new owners.

Our second OEHS CSHA & Open show was another great success. Some highlights of OEHS horses :

Ashtasy claimed both CSHA and Open champion mare
Venture K took first place in the Open weanling class, with Embellishment in second place.
Etching claimed both Open yearling and Open Junior Champion.
La Czaritza placed second in Open 3 year olds , and was Open Reserve Champion of the day.

This fall La Czaritza was inspected with ISR Oldenburg and scored a whopping 106.5 and was given Premium mare designation.

We are expecting 3 foals in 2015.
August 2014

Our second annual Breeders’ Show occurred on

We are very grateful to all our sponsors as well as the many volunteers who helped to  make the show a success.

February 2014

We at OEHS are happy to announce our sponsorship of the Horse Model class being offered at the JD Leap Into Spring Trillium Hunter/Jumper show which will be held at Iron Horse Equestrian in April 2014. We look forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to OEHS bred gelding Jetson for qualifying and competing in both the Lieutenant Governor and Governor General Cup Classes at the 2013 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Jetson is owned and shown by Candace Punch. He is out of our mare Paddy's Batch by hunter stallion Jupiter.

EM Eclipse TLM and Watermark are due to foal in early March. We anxiously await the arrival of the first of our 2014 crop and we will update you with the news.

February 2013

We will be hosting a CSHA/Open line show Aug 24/13. More details will follow. Please contact us should you have any questions.

Avero Aero placed well in the 2012 Cup classes.

November 2012

Our herd is expanding. We have purchased: La Czaritza, a 2011 Crown Affair filly; Watermark,
a Corlando mare in foal to Escudo 1; and Violet,
a new broodmare with lots of show mileage.

We are pleased to announce the birth of Archie,
a 2012 colt by Alla' Czar out of Mozcelle. He is stunning and we are excited to watch him mature. He is sold to Jenn O'Neil.

We were devastated to lose Wassini, our favorite mare. She was beautiful, athletic, and most of all, a real character. She will be greatly missed.

On a happier note, we are expecting three foals in 2013:
Shastan x Sir Wanabi
Violet x Harvard
Watermark x Escudo 1
